Summary:  To become a Center Medical Specialist, it is necessary to maintain an EMT license or a higher qualification due to the responsibilities and duties involved. One of my primary roles is to determine donor eligibility by reviewing their medical history and assessing their overall health for plasma donation. I also provide counseling to donors, discussing positive test results and explaining the center's policies. In addition, I am responsible for taking care of donors in case any complications arise during the plasma donation process. Familiarity with all the programs offered at our center is crucial, and I frequently write reports and communicate with doctors.

Summary:  During my internship, I worked as a medical assistant at Southwest Spinal Pain, a pain clinic. I had the opportunity to assist three doctors during clinics, where we would review imaging such as x-rays or MRIs to identify spine-related issues causing pain in different areas of the patient's body. Once the cause was determined, we would order procedures or injections, and I would assist in operating the fluoroscopy or ultrasound machine, enabling the doctors to accurately administer steroids into the patient's spine. Additionally, I had the privilege of working with an endocrinologist named Dr. Priya and gained experience in primary care and neurology, accompanying the doctors during patient visits.

Summary:  During my internship, my role was that of an ophthalmologic technician. I was responsible for bringing patients back to the exam rooms, gathering their information for the electronic health record (EHR), assisting doctors in minor procedures, performing tests and preliminary examinations, and also scribing with the doctors. It was a multifaceted role, and I found it to be incredibly enjoyable.

Summary:  They take care of people with physical disabilities, with people with behavioral issues as well too. And it's a pretty tough place to work sometimes. Just because a lot of these people, they have gone through different systems and before they get there. And you are working directly with people that have major challenges, but that means you have a lot to learn there as well too. I work in just the disability department mainly in rain tree with five individuals and feeding and giving medications from creams to in their food. I make breakfast and lunch. And there's a lot of opportunities to gain different skills and to learn things.

Summary:  For my internship, I chose to work with In-House Interpreting, an organization dedicated to providing language assistance to patients with limited English proficiency, thereby reducing confusion, non-compliance, and hospital readmissions. I have been involved in their training program to become a medical interpreter, which consists of three phases. In the first phase, I underwent a month-long course covering topics such as ethics, cultural understanding, and communication skills. Following that, I had to pass a mandatory assessment to demonstrate my proficiency in conducting video conference calls and interpreting in hospital settings.

Summary:  In this role, I attend to patients with various types of wounds, regardless of how they were acquired. My responsibilities include dressing down the wounds, taking vital signs, and ensuring that the wounds are clearly visible. I also clean the wounds, remove any medications, and address any edema present before the provider examines the patient. Once the provider determines the necessary treatment, I assist by applying medications, contact layers, bandages, and addressing any edema-related issues.
